I would like to say that I decided to make an English version of the web because I want the information provided here to reach a large audience. I am trying to do my best, but I am not an English speaker and my English is not perfect. So I thank you in advance for your understanding regarding possible English grammar/vocabulary mistakes. If you do not understand the sense of a sentence you think it is important to understand, please, let me know and I will try to explain you in a different manner.
Holistic Education
Holistic Education encompasses the work with the different dimensions of Human Being, being the physical, emotional and spiritual the most general ones. Addressing the needs related to each and every one of these dimensions is essential so that the children can develop in an integral and balanced way, allowing them to express their essence and full potential as a person and professional.
Self-development
The development of the Self should be the backbone that guides and structures the educational curricula. This kind of education would help to promote the responsibility of the individual towards himself and the others, which is a fundamental requirement to achieve a fair and conscious society. However, the sort of education we know is largely based on cognitive development. This only feeds the childrens’ mental part, and tend to separate them from their true essence, which is the key to achieving self-knowledge and fulfillment.
Music and Human Being
The connection between Music and Human Being is evident. This art has the potential to connect us with our emotions, with our most intimate side. On the other hand, playing music, in addition to promoting the development of cognitive processes that help improve performance in other disciplines such as mathematics or language, offers the possibility of expressing our essence. Not surprisingly, music is used as therapy most often. Given its importance in our development, this discipline should have a prominent place in the educational curricula.
